A tall, sinewy man with long red-brown hair, coppery complexion, and brown eyes.
Brenac's chief duty is fencing finished goods. He has picked up how to value, launder, and find a market for stolen items. He does very little work but he does actually turn labor into money. Brenac is friends with a few out-of-towners who would buy stolen jewellery if it has a good story. He is also an independent bank and moneychanger. He has enough precious metal stocked to live off of counterfeiting if he wants to.
Erudite and cosmopolitan, Brenac is a lover of history and is blessed with a penetrating insight about people, regardless of their background or culture. He has made friends and enemies with rich merchants, lucky artists, professors, writers, and musicians. Followers of the Raconteur like him especially. The actual daily actions of his life are spinning up schemes to sell random illegal things of all kinds.
The quality and purpose of the items he moves rarely has anything to do with how profitable they are. Sometimes he makes a killing off of junk. His function is to sell warehouses of stolen property. To the guild, it doesn't matter to whom, or even how profitably. Successful sales depend on how easy the item is to spot as stolen, the skill of the launderer who changes details on the item, and the availability of a willing retailer. Brenac only has to sell warehouses of items quickly, so all the thieves and their urchin underlings can shovel in new completely random stolen commodities.
Privately, Brenac is dismayed and dazed by this ridiculous process, but because the guild agrees that it works, his feelings are given only a perfunctory acknowledgement. On occasions that the guild sells a person, Brenac has to know the best pirate or brothel to sell them to.
