Iaanan makes an honest living as a scribe. He translates financial documents. After a long career of danger, greed and hoarding, he now keeps minimal possessions. He is great at stretching his money out, and will unobtrusively steal whatsoever he needs. He has mastered acquisition to such a degree that he does not keep anything. It's so easy for him to take things that he has no reason to treasure them.
Iaanan has fought in castles and dungeons, and has had friends and hirelings die on his adventures.
In his tomb-robbing, swashbuckling days he fought several groups of fierce men and monsters. He never learned anything about them.
Iaanan is becoming a bit of an academic, or at least he thinks he has the right attitude for it. He would be mildly interested in teaching new thieves, but is wary of potentially adding to the power of evil beings. The government owes him money.
